Carlos Alcaraz wins French Open Men’s Title

Carlos Alcaraz defeats Jannik Sinner in the 2025 French Open final in five closely contested sets. The match lasted 5 hours and 29 minutes and concluded with a score of 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2). This historic matchup represents a new era in men’s tennis, with two young superstars competing to come out on top.

In the first and second sets, Sinner utilizes his sharp groundstrokes and aggressive strokes to take a quick 6-4, 7-6 (4) advantage. Although it was tightly contested, Sinner managed to come out on top and save many break points. However, Alcaraz stepped up his intensity and began to take his balls earlier, taking the third set 6-4. Sinner bounced back immediately after and even found himself up 5–3, 40-0 in the fourth set with three championship points. In a surprising turn of events, Alcaraz suddenly stepped up his game and hit deep shots that led him to claw back into the match. He wins a close and hard-fought fourth-set tiebreak 7–6 (3).

The game then went on to the fifth and final set. In this set, Alcaraz won the fifth set 7-6, with a tiebreaker score of 10-2. Although the set was close, the tiebreaker was relatively easy for Alcaraz, as Sinner could not gain any momentum. Alcaraz remains unbeaten in major finals, 5-0, being just 22 years of age.

Alcaraz makes history, joining Rafael Nadal in winning five Slams before turning 23. He is also one of the few to save multiple match points in a Grand Slam final. He may possibly, in his career, take Nadal’s throne as the next “King of Clay.”
